Flyer Sizes in Nigeria: A6 Handbills and A5 Flyers Explained
The right flyer size affects what you can say, how easy it is to distribute and how much your print order costs.
For flyers and handbills at Waaprint, there are two main sizes:
| Flyer type | Finished size | Best used for |
|---|---|---|
| A6 Handbill | 4.13 × 5.83 inches | Quick offers and handouts |
| A5 Flyer | 5.83 × 8.27 inches | Detailed promotions and campaigns |
Waaprint prints Flyers & Handbills from ₦2,000 for 50 copies.
What is a flyer?
A flyer is a single unfolded printed sheet used to promote an event, product, service, offer or campaign. It should communicate one clear message quickly.
A flyer is different from a poster. Posters are designed to be seen from a distance, usually on a wall or display surface. At Waaprint, A4 and A3 are poster sizes, not flyer sizes.
A6 handbill size
An A6 handbill is about the size of a postcard. It is the smaller option and works best when you need to distribute a simple message to many people.
Use A6 handbills for:
- Discount offers
- New product promotions
- Event date and location
- Restaurant, salon and fashion promotions
- QR-code campaigns
- Simple service announcements
Because the space is limited, keep the design focused. Use one strong headline, one main image or offer, and one obvious call to action. Long paragraphs do not work well on an A6 handbill.
A5 flyer size
A5 is the more versatile option. It gives you enough room for images, services, prices and contact details while remaining easy to hand out, insert into bags or place on counters.
Use A5 flyers for:
- Church programmes and conferences
- Training and school adverts
- Real-estate campaigns
- Restaurant menus and food promotions
- Beauty, fashion and salon adverts
- Product launches
- Professional service flyers
If you need to explain your offer properly but still want a portable handout, A5 is usually the best choice.

How to choose between A6 and A5
Choose A6 when your message is simple
A6 is ideal when you need the reader to see one offer and take one action. It is practical for fast distribution and high-volume campaigns.
Choose A5 when you need more detail
A5 gives you more breathing room for service lists, prices, an image, a testimonial, a map or extra contact information. It is usually the better option for a business flyer.
Think about how people will receive it
For street distribution, inserts and quick handouts, A6 is compact and easy to carry. For reception areas, shops, events and business-to-business marketing, A5 often looks more substantial.
Consider your budget and quantity
Size matters, but quantity, paper, print sides, finishing and delivery also affect price. For broader starting prices, read Printing Prices in Nigeria.
Flyer design tips
Use one clear headline
People should understand the message within seconds. Examples include “50% Off This Weekend”, “Register for Our Training” or “Now Open in Ibadan”.
Include only essential details
State the offer, why it matters, where to act and how to contact you. A flyer is not a full website.
Make contact details visible
Use a clear phone number, WhatsApp number, social handle, website or QR code. Check every number and spelling before printing.
Use high-resolution images
A blurred photo can make a good offer look unprofessional. Send a print-ready PDF or high-resolution JPEG/PNG at the final print size.
Use Waaprint's free Print-Ready File Checker before ordering.
Keep a safe margin
Do not place text, QR codes or logos too close to the edge. A 3 to 5 mm safe margin is a practical starting point for many flyers.
Single-sided or double-sided flyers?
Single-sided flyers are suitable for a simple promotion.
Choose double-sided printing when you need to separate information clearly:
- Front: headline, offer and main image
- Back: service list, prices, map, schedule or terms
If your information needs organised panels, a Trifold Flyer or Brochure may be a better fit.
